About Alyona

Alyona recently graduated from New York University, where she double-majored in broadcast journalism and international relations. She reported for the New York Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Mediaite, and Campaign US.
 
Growing up in Yaroslavl, Russia, she launched and ran an Instagram page where she interviewed AFS exchange students. Translating and sharing the stories of students' cultural adaptation, she helped them build stronger bonds with the local community despite the existing language barrier. She continues facilitating meaningful dialogues on her social media blogs while gaining reporting experiences in professional newsrooms.

As of the summer of 2024, she produces social video content for the San Francisco Chronicle.
